BSM Driving Instructor Training
BSM (British School of Motoring) is one of the UK’s oldest and most recognised names in driver training. If you’re looking to become a qualified driving instructor, BSM provides a structured training programme designed to help you succeed. With experienced trainers, nationwide coverage, and a trusted reputation, BSM is a popular choice for those entering the driving instruction profession.
Whether you’re switching careers or looking to build a flexible future, BSM offers the tools and support you need to gain your ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) licence. Many learners also compare options for cost and training structure, such as exploring Bill Plant Driving Lesson Prices to understand different approaches to instructor training and driving tuition.
Step-by-Step Instructor Training Process
BSM follows the official DVSA-approved process for driving instructor training. This includes the following three parts:
Part 1 – Theory Test
This is a computer-based test covering road rules, hazard perception, and instructional techniques. BSM provides all the learning materials you need, including books, mock tests, and online resources.
Part 2 – Driving Ability
The second part is a practical test of your driving skills. A BSM trainer will work with you to ensure your driving meets the high standards required by the DVSA. You’ll receive one-to-one coaching and mock test practice to prepare.
Part 3 – Instructional Ability
This final part assesses your teaching skills. You’ll learn how to deliver lessons to learner drivers in a safe, structured way. BSM helps you develop lesson planning, communication, and risk management skills to pass the Part 3 test confidently.
